Infant safety seat comprises a seat shell having two sides pivotally connected with two sides of a handle, and a latch element 118. At least one of the seat shell sides has a first coupling element 114 defining a pivot axis 124 and including first and second inner cavities 120;122 between outer and inner sidewalls 120A;120B,122A,122B and having a generally arc shape centered about the pivot axis. The outer sidewall 120A of the first cavity has a plurality of first locking grooves 126,128,130, aligned diametrically with a plurality of second locking grooves 132,134,136 of the inner sidewall 122B of the second cavity. At least one of the handle sides 104 has a second coupling element 116 pivotally assembled with the first coupling element 114 about the pivot axis. The latch element 118 is assembled through the second coupling element and has a distal end extending outwards from the second coupling element for operation. It includes first and second studs 142,144 and slides radially between a locked state where the first and second studs 142,144 engage with a pair of the first and second locking grooves and an unlocked state where the first and second studs 142,144 are disengaged from the locking grooves.
