PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a catalyst capable of producing corresponding unsaturated aldehydes or corresponding unsaturated carboxylic acids at a high yield by the vapor phase catalytic oxidation of propylene, isobutylene, tertiary-butyl alcohol, or methyl tertiary-butyl ether with molecular oxygen.SOLUTION: The method of producing a catalyst for producing an unsaturated aldehyde and an unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises the steps of: mixing a solution containing a material of an iron constituent with a mixture liquid obtained by mixing a material of a molybdenum constituent, a material of tungsten constituent, and water to prepare a slurry having a median diameter of particles of 10-100 μm; and thereafter mixing the rest of catalyst constituent materials. |
