PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat device of an automobile, reliably moving a seat cushion to a folding position when a seatback is collapsed forwardly, preventing the vibration of the seatback from being transferred to the seat cushion, eliminating any feeling of discomfort of an occupant, allowing the seat cushion to be slidable forwardly, collapsing the seatback forwardly, and enhancing the get-in/get-off property of the occupant. SOLUTION: A cushion locking mechanism 35 is released. In this condition, a seat cushion 1a is moved to the folding position while being pushed by a seatback 1b when the seatback 1b is collapsed forwardly. Further, when the seatback 1b is collapsed forwardly by the operation of a strap member 41, the upper seating position of the seat cushion 1a is maintained while releasing the slide positioning of the seat cushion 1a.
