The present invention provides a monitoring system for protecting privacy. According to the present invention, the monitoring system for protecting the privacy enables a manager to monitor images of a monitoring area in real time when predetermined situations such as violence and forced entry occur, thereby protecting the privacy, more particularly, to monitor the occurrence of school violence or a non-educational situation such as smoking, and to rapidly deal with the situations. According to the present invention, the monitoring system for protecting the privacy comprises an image device for monitoring each monitoring area by being installed in one or more monitoring areas; a sound recognition sensor for recognizing sound information generated in the monitoring area by installing the image device in each monitoring area; a controller capable of analyzing the received sound information by connecting to the sound recognition sensor and capable of controlling the operation of the image device by connecting to the image device; and a monitoring area management unit capable of transmitting a sound broadcast to the monitoring area by connecting to a speaker and capable of monitoring the received image of the extracted monitoring area with a motion pattern set by being connected to the image device for monitoring.
