427,627. Sheet abrasive material. ATLAS - AGO AKT. - GES., M÷lkau, near Leipsic, Germany.-(Assignees of M³nch, .C.) Sept. 27, 1933, No. 26636. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1932. [Class 60] [See also Group VIII] Waterproof sheet abrasive material consists of a sheet of unsized paper to one side of which is applied a cellulose ester, for example, collodion or a solution of cellulose acetate, which serves to hold the abrasive and sinks into the paper to a depth determined by the degree of dilution of the solution and by the particular ester employed. The other side of the paper is then sized with a rosin size, preferably in alcoholic solution, to which has been added a solvent for the cellulose ester, for example, ethyl acetate or acetone, whereby a union of the layer of ester and the rosin filling takes place within the paper.
