METHOD FOR INSTALLING PROPULSION APPARATUS USED FOR SHIP

An installation method of a propulsion device for a ship is disclosed. The propulsion device comprises: a rear propeller fixed to a rotary shaft; a front propeller which is supported to the rotary shaft in front of the rear propeller to be rotated; and a counter rotating device having a gear box which is received in an installation space formed in the rear of a hull and receives multiple gears for reversing the rotation of the rotary shaft to transfer the reversed rotation to the front propeller and reversing the front propeller. The installation method of the propulsion device comprises: a forming step for forming an installation space in the rear of the hull to have a gap between the installation space and the outer surface of the gear box; an assembling step for assembling the counter rotating device on the outer surface of the rotary shaft; a receiving step for sending the gear box of the counter rotating device and the rotary shaft from the rear of the hull to the installation space; a fixing step for fixing the gear box to the installation space. The receiving step comprises a step for installing a guide member for supporting the gear box in the gap.
