[Class 98 (i)] [See also Group XL] A U-shaped Rontgen-ray tube comprises two metal arms 21, 22 enclosing re-entrant insulators 23, 24. The arms 21, 22 are secured by flanged tubes to a rotatable disc 27 situated in the wall which encloses the source of high tension. The supply conductors pass through inlet insulators 25, 26 which carry travelling rollers 29, 30 for flexible conductors so that a limited rotation is possible about an axis bisecting the angle between the arms 21, 22. The disc 27 may also be made capable of vertical motion.
