The projectile (10) includes a body with a fuse (15) in a fuse casing lower section (14). An interfacial region between them (10, 14) is designed with shape and/or strength modification. This prevents the fuse casing lower section from being thrust into the body, during impact on the target. The modification can be implemented as a head ring (12) with an internally-threaded section (16, 18) at each end. The section at the fuse end, is smaller in diameter than that at the body end. The transition (20) between the sections, exhibits conical taper (22) with no undercut.
