<p>A communication method using a cooperative MAC protocol is disclosed. The communication method comprises: detecting, by a source node, whether a channel is idle in a network and reserving the channel; transmitting, from a relay node to the source node, a relay response including the presence of the relay node and the capacity of a transfer rate after the channel is reserved; selecting, by the source node, two optimal relay nodes for data transmission and backup transmission whose transmission performance is better than direct source to destination node transmission based on the relay response; and cooperatively transmitting, by the source node, data to the destination data using the two optimal relay node.
