PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction of nitrogen oxide emission in an internal combustion engine, for protecting the internal combustion engine regardless of fuel to be combusted in the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A drive system and a method for operating the system are provided. The drive system includes: a first internal combustion engine (10) provided for an operation with a first fuel and including an air inlet (11); a second internal combustion engine (20) provided for an operation with a second fuel that differs from the first fuel, and including an exhaust gas outlet (22); and a branch line (90), which connects the exhaust gas outlet (22) of the second internal combustion engine (20) to the air inlet (11) of the first internal combustion engine (10) to supply exhaust gas emitted from the second internal combustion engine (20) to the air inlet (11) of the first internal combustion engine (10). |
