An image display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by reducing the number of substrates and processes and prevent abnormal image display such as color shift without display loss at each color pixel. On a first substrate(111), plural pixel areas are defined according as a data line and a gate line cross each other. In an array substrate(110), TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) are respectively formed in each pixel area. A barrier substrate(120) includes plural first barrier patterns(122), a transparent insulating layer(123) and a color filter array(126). The plural first barrier patterns are formed in a lower part of a second substrate(121) as being spaced from each other. The transparent insulating layer is formed in a lower part of the plural first barrier patterns. The color filter array is formed in a lower part of the transparent insulating layer, and has RGB(Red, Green and Blue) color filters and plural white color filters. Second barrier patterns are formed in the white color filters. An LC(Liquid Crystal) layer is formed between the array substrate and the barrier substrate. |
