The device (D) has a determination module (DVA) for determining a current value of a state variable describing a context relative to a set of entities (EP1, EP3) e.g. temperature sensor. A reception module of a notification rule is defined by a condition and by a notification action. The condition defines a state transition for the variable state. A detecting module (DTC) detects a given current state from the state transition. A notification module (NTF) carries out the notification action when state transition has occurred.
