The credential system (100) has a credential (1) and a reading device (2), where the credential is provided with a chip or a microprocessor (4) that is connected with a contact surface (3) of credentials. The credential has a gold- or precious metal deposit (5) that is electrically connected with the chip or microprocessor separately or over the contact surface by the power lines (6a,6b). The metal deposit is safely molded or adhered on a plastic layer of the credential. The current is applied on the contact surface with the reading device to measure the electrical resistance of the deposit. An independent claim is included for a method for use of a credential system.
