REGIONAL BACKLIGHT CONTROL METHOD FOR SIDE LIGHT GUIDE, BACKLIGHT DEVICE AND APPARATUS

A regional backlight control method for side light guide, a backlight device and apparatus. The backlight device comprises: a video converter which converts an input video to obtain video image data to be processed; a circuit for determining a backlight value and a backlight compensation value, which processes the video image data to obtain the backlight value and the backlight compensation value of each segmentation region of the video; a PWM control circuit which modulates the backlight lamp group of each segmentation region on a backlight source group (1) according to the backlight value and illuminates a liquid crystal display panel (2); a backlight compensation circuit which performs backlight compensation on a signal according to the backlight compensation value; and a liquid crystal control circuit which performs compensation on the video image data after receiving the backlight compensation signal and sends same to the liquid crystal display panel (2) for display. The backlight control method, and the backlight device and apparatus determine the backlight source brightness according to a regional image content to be displayed, modulate an LCD control signal, effectively save power consumption on the premise of keeping the image brightness, and increase the contrast.
