An air conditioner is provided to enhance heat exchange efficiency of indoor air by opening/closing a plurality of air intakes through a front panel. An air conditioner comprises a case, a front panel, a driving unit(500), a plasma filter, a safety switch(1200) mounted on the driving unit, and an on/off member(1230). A heat exchanger and a ventilating fan are installed in the case. The front panel is formed on a front side of the case to open/close an air intake. The driving unit allows the front panel to move. The plasma filter purifies air introduced through the air intake. The safety switch allows power to be supplied to the plasma filter. The on/off member selectively operates the safety switch according to the movement of the front panel. |
