PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UV-excited yellow light-emitting material capable of emitting yellow light stably and with high efficiency even by passing a high-current and emitting light of high brightness; and to provide a light-emitting device capable of yellow light-emitting or white light-emitting with high efficiency and high brightness for a long period.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a UV-excited yellow light-emitting material which is a cerium-added terbium-scandium-aluminum-garnet type single crystal.
