The cartridge seal (2) has a sealing ring (7) and an annular end disc (8) between which a radial gap (6) is formed, and a connecting portion (10) connected with a sealing lip (11). A hollow cylindrical portion (13) is connected to the radially oriented section (15) of the end disc engaged by at least one portion (18) of the sealing ring axially beyond an end (19) of the radially oriented section. The sealing ring is placed in the radial gap either via at least one portion and whose at least one lip (20) is still in contact with the sealing lip on other end disc.
