PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction detection device which can accurately detect the movement direction of a body to be detected regardless of temperature of the body to be detected.SOLUTION: A direction detection device includes: a first infrared detecting unit 1 which includes light receiving elements 1a, 1b connected in series so that their polarities are opposite to each other, and outputs a detection signal S1 from both poles of the series circuit of the light receiving elements 1a, 1b; a second infrared detecting unit 2 which includes one light receiving element 2a, and outputs a detection signal S2 through the light receiving element 2a; and a signal processing unit 3 which detects the movement direction of a body to be detected K on the basis of the variation direction of the detection signal S1 and the variation direction of the detection signal S2. |
