PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prompt the user to remove a recording medium in early stages after a document read operation begins, thereby preventing the recording medium from being left behind.SOLUTION: An image formation device, which allows a removable recording medium to be attached or removed therefrom, comprises: an operation unit which accepts an operation performed by the user; a document read unit which reads a document to generate image data of the document; and a control unit which, when an instruction to read a document is received from the user via the operation unit, controls the document read unit to have a document read operation started, and which, when the attached recording medium is not removed during the document read operation after information for identifying the document and a destination at which the image data of the document is stored have been stored in the recording medium, causes the document read unit to stop. |
