摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally assisted recording medium which has high coercive force, has narrow dispersion of coercive force, obtains high SNR, and shows excellent anticorrosion, and provide a magnetic storage apparatus using the same, which has a low error rate and high reliability.SOLUTION: A thermally assisted magnetic recording medium (1) is used which is provided with: a substrate (101); a base layer (3) that is formed on the substrate (101); and a magnetic layer (107) that is formed directly on the base layer (3) and is mainly composed of an alloy having an L1structure. The base layer (3) is obtained by continuously laminating a first base layer (104) that has a BCC structure and a lattice constant from 0.302 nm to 0.332 nm (inclusive), a second base layer (105) that has an NaCl structure and contains C, and a third base layer (106) that is formed of MgO.
