PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking support device and a braking support method that can control a vehicle from sliding sideways when the automatic braking control is executed.SOLUTION: A braking support device includes: a steering support control part 13 that obtains a steering angle of an own vehicle at the braking by the operation of a driver and accumulates as a braking history; and a braking support control part 12 that detects an obstacle forward of the own vehicle, and determines whether to execute automatic braking control when the obstacle forward of the own vehicle is detected, and does the control according to the determination result. The steering support control part 13, when the braking support control is executed, calculates the steering direction of the braking history and the steering assist quantity in the same direction, and does the automatic steering control corresponding to the steering assist quantity. |
