PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that prevents performance recovery processing from being performed in a high-humidity environment.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell that includes a membrane electrode assembly having electrodes, with respective catalyst layers, arranged on two respective sides of a polymer electrolyte membrane; a control device that performs performance recovery processing of the catalyst layers by decreasing output voltage of the fuel cell to predetermined voltage; and adjusting means that, before the performance recovery processing is performed, makes an adjustment such that relative humidity in a surrounding atmosphere of the catalyst layers is at or below a threshold value. The adjusting means makes the adjustment by increasing the flow rate of oxidant gas to be supplied to a cathode of the fuel cell. |
