PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device using AC power for ignition, which surely supplies AC power required for performing ignition.SOLUTION: An ignition device comprises: a spark plug; an AC power source; and a transmission line having a plug cable at its tip and for connecting the spark plug to the AC power source. The plug cable comprises an inner conductor extending along a center line; an outer conductor on an outer surface of the plug cable; a plug cable terminal connecting to a plug side terminal at a tip of the inner conductor; and an insulator in the plug cable for electrically insulating the outer conductor from the inner conductor. A tip of the outer conductor has a constricted part protruding to a radial direction inside, and an edge protruding to a radial direction inside of the constricted part, comes into contact with a main metal fitting of the spark plug, and the tip of the outer conductor comes into contact with a mounting surface of an engine in which the spark plug is attached thereto. The ignition device also has a pressing part for pressing the outer conductor to the mounting surface. |
