PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and systems for canceling table noise in a speaker system used for video or audio conferencing.SOLUTION: Table noise is cancelled by using a vertical microphone array to distinguish the tilt angle of sound received by a microphone 104, 106. If the sound is close to the horizontal, the audio is muted. If the sound is above a given angle to the horizontal, it is not muted because it indicates voice of a speaking person. This eliminates noise such as paper rustling, keyboard 108 clicks and the like. |
