The invention relates to a method for operating a kneader-mixer (1) comprising one or more shafts (2, 3) provided with kneading bars (4) on the surfaces thereof and which are surrounded by a covering (6). Said method comprises the following steps: . (a) introducing starting material to a supply point (10) of the kneader mixer (1), . (b) reacting the starting material in an exothermic reaction, a continuously kneadable intermediate product being initially formed during the reaction . (c) tearing and comminuting the continuously kneadable intermediate product in order to form a product, the exothermic reaction optionally continuing during the tearing and comminuting, . (d) extracting the product at an extraction point (11) of the kneader mixer, at least one of the shafts (2, 3) and/or the covering being heated, when the kneader-mixer is in operation, to a temperature higher than 20 °C. |
