PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of improving image quality.SOLUTION: An image display device comprises a display section and a light beam control section. The display section displays a plurality of parallax images that has pixels having a plurality of sub-pixels individually having different colors arranged in a first direction and in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction in a matrix form and has parallaxes thereamong. The light beam control section is arranged opposite to the display section, extends in a direction inclined against the second direction by an angle smaller than 90 degrees, has light beam control elements periodically arranged at a first pitch in the first direction and at a second pitch in the second direction and can control a direction of a light beam from the display section. Further, the first pitch and the second pitch are values by which a triangle obtained by connecting the nearest sub pixels observed across the light beam control elements having the same colors is close to a regular triangle. Furthermore, when the number of sub pixels in the first direction possessed by each pixel is represented by s, the first pitch is a value not less than 5/s times as large as a third pitch indicating respective pitches of each pixel in the first direction and in the second direction. |
