PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decontamination reagent and a decontamination method used for separating and removing a radioactive contaminant from soil, burned ash and dust or the like contaminated by a radioactive substance, a uranium-based radioactive substance in particular.SOLUTION: The decontamination reagent is a mixture of: (A) 50 wt.% of a component obtained by heating a suspension body for which apatite is immersed in sulfamic acid for 40 minutes or so at the temperature of about 100°C; (B) 30 wt.% of a component obtained by dissolving aluminum, titanium and zinc in sulfuric acid while heating them for 40 minutes or so at the temperature of about 100°C; and (C) 20 wt.% of a component obtained by dissolving barium and magnesium in nitric acid while heating them to about 100°C for 20 minutes or so. |
