PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy for a reader to browse an electronic book without bothering the reader by suppressing the wasteful retention or saccade of the visual point of the reader.SOLUTION: A display configuration change system 1 includes: a visual point detection unit 11 for detecting the visual point of a reader within a display screen on which electronic book data are displayed; a retention detection unit 12 for detecting that the visual point retains for a predetermined time or more at an arbitrary place within the display screen; and a virtual character symbol numerical information string creation unit 14 for creating a virtual character symbol numerical information string 32 in which line heads of respective lines are coincident. On the basis of a signal from the retention detection unit 12, when a line head of a line in which the visual point retains and a line head of a next line in character symbol numerical information 30 are not coincident, a display configuration change unit 15 changes the display configurations of the character symbol numerical information 30 on the basis of the virtual character information string 32.
