PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub headlight unit for use in a vehicle that leans into turn, capable of suppressing occurrence of a situation where a rider feels uncomfortable about a change in an illumination range.SOLUTION: A sub headlight unit is for use in a vehicle that leans into turn. The sub headlight unit includes sub headlight light sources to illuminate the outside in the vehicle width direction and a front of the vehicle on one side in the vehicle width direction. A brightness of each of the sub headlight light sources is changed in accordance with a lean angle of the vehicle. When the lean angle of the vehicle leaning to the one side in the vehicle width direction reaches one of the reference values that are respectively determined for each of the sub headlight light sources, the corresponding sub headlight light source is lit with first brightness. In a period from a time when the lean angle of the vehicle reaches a lower value that is less than the reference value to a time when the lean angle of the vehicle reaches the reference value, each of the sub headlight light sources is lit with a brightness lower than the first brightness.
