<p>A head cleaning device (30) comprises: a wiping member (32) which is wrapped annularly around a support member (34) while a part of the wiping member is fixed to the base member (40) which is fixed to the device body (52) of a drive device (50), the wiping member (32) wiping a head (60) which at least either writes information to or reads information from a recording tape (T) in response to the movement of the support member (34) in the tape width direction; and a belt member (36) which is wrapped annularly around a guide member (38) provided on each side of the support member (34) in the tape longitudinal direction so that the belt member projects closer to the moving and wiping side in the tape width direction than the support member (34), the belt member having a part fixed to the base member (40) and separating the recording tape (T) from the head (60) while keeping in contact with the recoding tape (T) in response to the movement of the guide member (38) in the tape width direction.</p> |
