PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for interpreting an event that has occurred in a video in detail by determining a contact state of objects detected in the video.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus sequentially acquires images of frames output from an imaging device; recognizes a situation captured in the image by recognition processing to the images, and if the recognized situation is a predetermined situation, detects objects of the type relating to the predetermined situation from the image and images of the frames including the image; and determines whether or not the objects are in contact with each other in a real space by using detection positions of the respective objects from the image.
