The cooling device has a cooling plate (18) to cool energy storage units (22,23) of an energy storage device (21). Two cooling surfaces of cooling plate are fastened with the energy storage units, where expansion of cooling surfaces is larger than residual surfaces of cooling plate. The residual surfaces are connected with a heat sink (8) having a heat sink near region and a heat sink far region. The heat collecting property of the cooling plate in the heat sink far region is set to higher than the cooling plate in the heat sink near region. An independent claim is included for the energy storage device used in vehicle.
