The braking device (1) has two braking units (4), where rollers (3) associated with the braking units are arranged at two different ends of a rolling case or -container (2). An actuating element (5) is provided, by which the two braking units are settable in and out of operation. A power transmission device is connected to the braking units by the actuating element. The rollers of the rolling case or -container are braked by the actuating element, where the actuating element is arranged in a lower case half and receptacle half and is designed such that it is actuated by a foot movement.
