An illumination sensor based on human visual sensation characteristics is disclosed. The illumination sensor includes: a first illumination sensing unit generating and outputting a first electric pulse signal corresponding to a current flowing in a first light detection element having first transmittance characteristics; a second illumination sensing unit generating and outputting a second electric pulse signal corresponding to a current flowing in a second light detection element having second transmittance characteristics; and a pulse subtraction part outputting a subtracted electric pulse signal which is obtained by subtracting a pulse train of the second electric pulse signal from a pulse train of the first electric pulse signal. By the present invention, the illumination sensor is provided which has light transmittance characteristics similar to the human visual sensation characteristics, and has wide light intensity measurement range capable of maximizing measurement range by enabling accurate light intensity measurement under extremely low luminance environment.
