Image data and auxiliary information may be appropriately displayed depending on capabilities of a display connected to a transmission terminal to increase viewability of information necessary for conferencing to ensure displaying of the information. A transmission terminal which is connected to a display apparatus for outputting image data for displaying on the display apparatus is disclosed, including a resolution obtaining unit; a resolution determining unit; a resolution selecting unit; an image processing unit which performs a process of adding a segment area to the image data output by the display apparatus after a first resolution is selected by the resolution selecting unit; and a resolution changing unit which changes the resolution of the display apparatus to the resolution selected by the resolution selecting unit.
