PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a local cooling structure of a mold, capable of sufficiently feeding a refrigerant into a hollow of a tip part and excellent in cooling performance, when the tip part of a core provided in a cavity is elongated and has a shape tapered toward the tip thereof, in a local cooling structure for cooling a part for casting a recessed groove in a casting article and in a mold with the same.SOLUTION: A local cooling structure 10 includes a core 3 protruded into a cavity C of a mold 100. The core 3 includes: a general part 1 disposed inside the mold and including a first hollow 1a; and a tip part 2, a part of which faces the cavity, including a second hollow 2a in which a dimension of a cross section perpendicular to a shaft center direction L of the core is smaller than that of the first hollow 1a. The first hollow 1a has a cooling pipe 4 having a cross sectional dimension that is smaller than that of the first hollow but larger than that of the second hollow 2a and feeding a refrigerant W and the like to the hollows 1a, 2a, while the second hollow 2a stores therein a displacement body 8 displaced in response to the flow of the refrigerant W. |
