PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of determining the type of paper without causing a cost increase of paper for use.SOLUTION: A printer 1000 includes a paper flange 1 attached to a roll paper 4 and holding the roll paper 4. A paper flange 1 contains a paper pressing part 2 movable along a predetermined direction. The printer 1000 includes a sensor 60 for detecting a position of the paper pressing part 2 that is changed by the movement of the paper pressing part 2. |
