PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support body having a heat insulating layer for providing a recording material having high printing density and excellent image evenness, in a recording material of a thermal transfer receiving sheet and a thermosensitive recording sheet for recording using a thermal head.SOLUTION: A thermal support body for a recording material includes at least on one side of a sheet-like base material thereof a heat insulating layer. The heat insulating layer contains hollow particles and water soluble styrene maleic acid resin.
