PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tracking device for performing an optimum tracking operation according to a situation while preventing tracking impossibility that occurs when a subject moves out of a screen.SOLUTION: An automatic tracking device for automatically tracking a subject to be tracked by operating at least one of zooming, tilting, and panning includes: means for acquiring sound information; means for detecting a position of the subject to be tracked; means for determining a tracking operation prohibition area where a tracking operation for the subject to be tracked is not performed; means for discriminating whether the subject position is within the tracking operation prohibition area or not; and control means for not performing a tracking operation when the subject position is within the tracking operation prohibition area and performing a tracking operation when the subject position is out of the tracking operation prohibition area. The tracking operation prohibition area is changed in accordance with the sound information. |
