A purpose of the present invention is to provide a coating liquid for forming a sulfide semiconductor, which is capable of easily forming a sulfide semiconductor having a large area, said sulfide semiconductor being useful as a semiconductor material for photoelectric conversion materials. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide: a sulfide semiconductor thin film that is produced using the coating liquid for forming a sulfide semiconductor; and a thin film solar cell. The present invention is a coating liquid for forming a sulfide semiconductor, which contains a complex that contains a group 15 metal element of the periodic table and sulfur.
