PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus in which both the widening of angle of view and high zooming ratio are achieved, and various aberrations are corrected favorably.SOLUTION: An image pickup apparatus includes a zoom lens and an image pickup element. The zoom lens includes a first positive lens group, a first negative lens group, a diaphragm, and a second positive lens group. The first positive lens group and the first negative lens group are disposed in order from the object side, the second positive lens group is disposed on the image side of the first negative lens group, and the diaphragm is disposed between the first negative lens group and the second positive lens group. For zooming, the first positive lens group is stationary, the first negative lens group moves to the image side, and the second positive lens group moves to the object side. A position at a telephoto end of the first negative lens group is on the image side of a position at the wide angle end. A position at a telephoto end of the second positive lens group is on the object side of a position at the wide angle end. For focusing, the first positive lens group is stationary. The first positive lens group includes a reflecting member having a reflecting surface, a first positive lens group object-side system that is positioned on the object side of the reflecting surface and has a negative refractive power, and a first positive lens group image-side system that is positioned on the image side of the reflecting surface, and has a positive refractive power, wherein a predetermined conditional expression is satisfied. |
