PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify components removable from an apparatus body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an endless intermediate transfer body which circumferentially conveys an image transferred at a first transfer position to a second transfer position, and transfers the image on a recording medium at the second transfer position; a tension application member which is extended to an inner circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer body downstream the first transfer position but upstream the second transfer position in the conveyance direction, and presses the intermediate transfer body toward the outer circumferential side to apply tension on the intermediate transfer body; a removable body which is provided with the intermediate transfer body and the tension application member, and can be removed from an apparatus body integrally with the intermediate transfer body and the tension application member; and a contact member which is provided in the apparatus body in such a manner as to contact with the tension application member in the pressing direction side of the tension application member with respect to the intermediate transfer body in an attachment state of the removable body to the apparatus body, and lets a charge on the inner circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer body out through the tension application member. |
