PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic curing catalyst capable of improving curing characteristics or the like by being used as a catalyst for a composition including a cationically curable compound.SOLUTION: A method for production of a cationic curing catalyst includes mixing Lewis acid with Lewis base in the presence of the water in an amount of ≥30 mol% with respect to the Lewis acid represented by general formula (1) (wherein Rs are the same or different, and are each a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; (x)s are each an integer of 1 to 5, are the same or different, and are each the number of fluorine atoms bonding to an aromatic ring; and a and b are the integers of ≥1 and ≥0, respectively, and satisfy a+b=3). |
