The connecting dowel has a connecting plug (8) that is formed as an ellipse-type flat plug. A base (10) is provided in the connecting plug. A clamping bar (13) is extended from one edge of the base in the circumferential direction. Several detent lugs are distributed in the clamping bar at regular or irregular intervals. The ends of the base are tapered. The connecting plug is formed from a wood material and/ or fiber composite material such as high-density fiberboard, high-density fiberboard and thermosetting polymer. An independent claim is included for a joint of component.
