According to the embodiment of the present invention, a rechargeable battery comprises a case; an electrode assembly which is accommodated in the case; a cap plate which seals an aperture of the case; and a terminal unit which is combined with the cap plate. The terminal unit comprises a terminal plate which is installed on the cap plate and is electrically connected to the electrode assembly; and an auxiliary plate which electrically connects the terminal plate to the cap plate and where multiple apertures are formed to reduce the current flowing along a current path.
