The application relates to a method for transmitting information from a wireless access point to one or more wireless stations. The method comprises aggregating a plurality of information units of compatible types, such as MAC protocol data units (MPDUs) or acknowledgements into a single data frame, modulating the single data frame and transmitting the modulated data frame containing the plurality of information units to the one or more wireless stations. Also disclosed is a method of transmitting ACK frames from a plurality of wireless stations which receive a multi-user aggregated MPDU (MUA-MPDU) such that they do not collide. A station STA whose MPDU is the nth MPDU in the MUA-MPDU has an ACK frame slot commencing at a time (n x SIFS) + ((n-1) x T-ACK after the end of the MUA-MPDU received by that station, where SIFS is the short inter-frame space duration and T_ACK is the duration of an ACK frame. |
