The present invention relates to a bill counting device for identifying counterfeit bills and counting bills, more particularly, to a device and a method for providing bill data and log data so as for financial institutions to perform ready money closing conveniently without a ready money closing machine, the device comprising: an image acquiring unit for acquiring images of bills using an image sensor; a sensor value acquiring unit for detecting whether the bills are counterfeit bills or not by using various optical sensors; and a determining unit including a log data storage unit for storing log data and bill data acquired in the sensor value acquiring unit and the image acquiring unit.
