A mobile terminal and a mobile terminal control method are disclosed. The mobile terminal and the mobile terminal control method of the present invention are characterized by comprising: a display module; a camera; at least one Graphical User Interface (GUI) and at least one image storing memory; and a control unit, wherein the control unit: obtains an image taken using the camera by controlling the camera or an image stored in the memory; extracts a graphic pattern from the obtained image by applying a graphic algorithm for extracting a graphic pattern of an image to the obtained image; and displays the at least one GUI on the display module by reflecting the extracted graphic pattern if the at least one GUI is invoked. According to the present invention, the mobile device and the mobile device control method are capable of: obtaining an image; extracting a graphic pattern from the obtained image; and displaying the extracted graphic pattern by applying the graphic pattern to the GUI of the mobile terminal.
