Chime for the striking mechanism of a timepiece

The watch has a striking mechanism comprising a gong (4) that includes a beam surrounding a mechanical movement and extending in a plane. Gong-carrier is assembled with a plate, and the gong is fixed on the gong-carrier at one of its ends. A hammer (6) strikes the gong in order to produce vibrations from the gong. The hammer is arranged for striking an impact surface (8) of the gong along impact direction inclined with respect to the plane of the gong, where the surface is inclined with respect to a direction (z). The gong is made of a material e.g. precious metal or precious metal alloy.
