The present invention relates to an immunostimulatory and antiviral composition containing a Salvia miltiorrhiza extract and a method for enhancing immunity and antiviral activity in animals by administering the Salvia miltiorrhiza extract to animals exclusively of human, which need to enhance immunity. According to the present invention, the immunostimulatory and antiviral composition shows antiviral activity and enhances immunity, thereby being applied for preventing and treating disease infected by bacteria and virus and being widely used as a medicine or a health food for enhancing and regulating immunity in a patient whose immunity is reduced or suppressed and an immunostimulatory and antiviral feed for strengthening ant-disease immunity in animals.
